Animoto is a simple way to create music videos combining music, images, short video clips, and text. It requires an annual license to access the online software program. Videos can be left online and accessed with a web link or downloaded. Following are some examples of the use of Animoto in my personal life and by my students in class.

David’s vacations. www.arendale.org/personal-music-videos I mix together photos I have taken, music available from Animoto, and provide limited text annotations to some of the images.

History music videos by David and his history students. www.arendale.org/digital-story-telling-for-global-history-course I used Animoto to provide a brief review of some topics from the class unit. Students were given an option to create an Animoto video as part of an extra credit excitement. I permitted the students to work in teams of up to three for the project. This was a very popular learning activity as well as another way to demonstrate what they had learned.
